Google Search is getting a major update with AI-powered features that change how users search. The new autocomplete system understands nuance and context, making queries more natural. Users can now attach files or images to their searches, such as finding a dress under $150 with specific colors.

The update also introduces agent-like search notifications for conditions like stock price changes. These will arrive in summer 2026 for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. An AI mode agent called 'Antigravity' can code interactive visuals, graphs, and planner apps, also coming in summer 2026 for the same subscribers.
A Universal Commerce Protocol allows AI agents to purchase and track products from e-commerce sites. It launches soon in Canada, Australia, and the UK. The Agents Payments Protocol enables secure agent payments. A Universal Cart feature lets users combine products from different sites into one cart with mismatch alerts, arriving in summer 2026.
The AI-powered autocomplete and file/image search features are rolling out worldwide starting today. The Universal Commerce Protocol is also available now in Canada, Australia, and the UK. Google has not confirmed the exact launch dates for the summer 2026 features beyond the stated season.
