CrystalDiskInfo 9.9.0 has been released. The update adds a [FAKE] label for counterfeit Samsung SSDs. It also introduces support for JMicron JMS59x flash controllers.
New fake SSD detection feature
The new version fixes an issue where JMS586 New was not working properly. The security of the DLL loading process has also been improved.
The detection criteria for fake SSDs have not been disclosed. It remains unclear how the software identifies counterfeit drives.
The update was announced by developer hiyohiyo. ComputerBase reported on the release.
