Apple is planning a complete redesign for the Apple Watch Ultra 4, the first major overhaul since the original Ultra launched in 2022. According to a report from DigiTimes, the design changes are significant enough that sales are expected to increase by 20 to 30 percent.
Doubled sensors and improved efficiency
The new model will feature substantial sensor upgrades. DigiTimes reports that the number of sensors will be doubled and energy efficiency will be improved, which could lead to longer battery life. It remains unclear whether Apple will simply add more photodiodes for better heart rate and blood oxygen measurements or introduce entirely new functions.
Bloomberg has previously reported that Apple is working on high blood pressure alerts and blood glucose monitoring, but DigiTimes suggests that real blood pressure measurement and blood glucose monitoring are unlikely to appear this year. However, high blood pressure alerts may become more accurate with watchOS 26.
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is expected to launch in 2026. Apple has not confirmed the release date or pricing details.
