Steam concurrent players hit 467,000
On Steam alone, peak concurrent players reached 467,000, nine times the all-time peak of the original Subnautica. The game holds a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam with 92% positive reviews. Subnautica 2 runs on Unreal Engine 5 and supports co-op for up to four players with full crossplay between PC and Xbox.
The early access period is expected to last two to three years, with a planned roadmap for new content. Unknown Worlds described the design target as roughly 'a third new, a third the same, and a third improved.'
On Twitch, Subnautica 2 peaked at over 413,000 concurrent viewers, ranking No. 1 across all categories. The game is available now on PC and Xbox Series S|X.
