System integrator, Stince Built, has informed it's customers that DDR5 RAM Kits will have an additional 10 to 15% price increase. This definitely affects everyone who is planning a new PC build or upgrading their memory in the near future. Overall cost of a new system will be higher due to the rising component cost.
System integrator absorbs some costs while honoring original prices for existing orders
This price increase is the result of a supply chain issue. A RAM supplier had canceled previous orders with Stince Built. Stince Built has announced that they will still charge the original price for orders that are already in place.
However, going forward, all future builds will be affected by this price change. This is an attempt to cushion some of the impact while increasing the price on new customers.
This RAM price increase comes on the heels of AMD and NVIDIA GPU price increases. We've seen the overall cost of PC builds go up. With the cost of graphics cards now higher as well as RAM, it's getting to be quite the compounding effect for any new PC builds. For consumers, it might be a case of shifting budgets or delaying new purchases given the current state of component pricing.
We can definitely see the wild nature of current PC hardware. System integrators are dealing with supplier cancellations and wholesale price increases at the same time. In this case, Stince Built absorbing some of the cost for orders already in place gives a little cushion for those committed to a PC build.
