People who change GPU settings to squeeze out performance get a speed boost. The Universal MFG Unlocker 1.6.1 tool lets you make DLSS preset changes in real time. No need to reload the game.

Tool lets users toggle DLSS and Frame Generation presets instantly in supported DirectX 12 games

This can be very helpful. Usually you have to reload the game when you change settings. So that's going to affect your testing, your benchmark runs, etc. If you're someone who's always changing frame gen, upscaling modes, etc., you'll appreciate the extra speed.

  • DLSS Super Resolution Presets: J, K, L, M
  • Ray Reconstruction Presets: D, E, F
  • Frame Generation Presets: A, B, C
  • Supported GPU Architectures: RTX 20, 30, 40, and 50 Series
  • API Support: DirectX 12

The Universal MFG Unlocker is a tool from dashdogy. It's a software overlay. It works for certain DirectX 12 games.

It's built into the game. You can control the DLSS Super Resolution. Ray reconstruction.

Frame generation. And on. That's built into the game.

This new version 1.6.1 update brings support for NVIDIA's RTX 50 Series GPUs. So you can use it now with RTX 20, 30, 40, and 50 Series architectures. Very helpful. More cards to use it with now.

The 1.6.1 update brings you specific DLSS presets for the various feature sets. So, for DLSS Super Resolution, you can toggle between J, K, L, M presets. For ray reconstruction, you've got D, E, F presets.

Then for frame gen, you have A, B, C presets. You also get Dynamic MFG, NVIDIA Reflex FPS limit, and FPS monitor for RTX 50 Series.

One bug fix in this update was fixing an issue where Frame Generation wouldn't turn on for some RTX 20 or 30 Series setups. It also improves support for XeSS Multi Frame Generation. But there are some caveats with the real-time change thing.

You can only do real-time preset changes in supported DirectX 12 titles. If you're using Vulkan. Or, if you're using older frame generation. You'll have to restart your game for the changes to take effect.

The last update we wrote up for the Universal MFG Unlocker. Well, some of the same balance/stability stuff came up then. Here we go again with the Universal MFG Unlocker 1.6.1.

It's all about more support, bug fixes. Not new features. It's definitely still a niche tool for folks.

Enthusiasts, reviewers. They need access to more granular control over the GPU rendering engine.

So if you want to get immediate access to DLSS presets for all kinds of NVIDIA GPU cards, then you want the Universal MFG Unlocker 1.6.1. You can find that over on their GitHub. Now you can tweak performance on the fly in certain DirectX 12 games.
