The new Stellaris 16 Gen8 is built around Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus CPUs with NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, 5080, or 5090 Laptop GPUs. TUXEDO describes it as a desktop replacement laptop, emphasizing its ability to sustain power over ultra-slim portability. The laptop features an aluminum case with a 3-fan cooling system that can sustain 240W of power, preventing any thermal throttling under heavy loads.

Specifications

  • CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti / 5080 / 5090 Laptop
  • Display: 16-inch WQXGA (300Hz LCD, 300Hz Mini LED, 240Hz OLED)
  • Memory: 2x DDR5-6400 SO-DIMM
  • Battery: 99Whr

The display options, while all 16" WQXGA (2560×1600) resolution, vary in technology and refresh rate. For memory, there are two DDR5-6400 SO-DIMM slots. Storage comes with two M.2 2280 PCIe SSD slots for flexible storage options.

The laptop weighs from 2.6kg to 2.8kg, and the 99Whr battery allows for longer unplugged use. In terms of connectivity, you get 2.5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi, Thunderbolt 4, Mini DisplayPort 2.1, and an SD UHS-II card reader. You can also use the Aquaris external liquid cooling for even more thermal headroom if needed.

Starting at 2,350EUR before taxes (about $2,630), this is the price for EU (with RTX 5070 Ti, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD). TUXEDO has opened up sales for these laptops in Europe, aiming at professionals and enthusiasts looking for high-performance Linux hardware.
