Players waiting for a high-fidelity action game have a new contender in Tides of Annihilation. Eclipse Glow Games revealed technical details that target PC enthusiasts who demand advanced lighting and upscaling features. This preview confirms the title will leverage modern rendering techniques rather than relying on older methods.

Director Ary Chen cites technical demands for PC-only focus

The game is a fast-paced action-adventure set in a fantasy version of London. It draws clear inspiration from the Devil May Cry series in its combat structure. Players control Gwendolyn, who has already acquired supernatural abilities by the time the demo begins.

Eclipse Glow Games built the title using Unreal Engine 5. The studio confirmed support for path tracing on PC to enhance visual fidelity. They are also working with to integrate DLSS support for performance scaling.

The development team consists of 115 members and began work in early 2023. Angela Sant'Albano provides the voice for Gwendolyn, replacing the previous actress Jennifer English. The studio is self-publishing the game despite receiving investment from Tencent.

Director Ary Chen stated there are no current plans to port the game to the Nintendo Switch 2. He noted that the technical demands of the project make a Switch 2 launch unlikely at this stage. The team remains open to future possibilities but has no immediate roadmap for that platform.

Eclipse Glow Games will publish the title themselves. The studio declined to provide an exact release window or game length during the preview. They cited ongoing optimization work as the reason for withholding specific numbers.
