Chuwi NeoBook Laptop Launches With Core 3 100U and Upgradable RAM

Chuwi introduced the NeoBook, a new 14-inch laptop designed for budget-conscious buyers who need reliable daily computing. The device starts at $409, making it a practical option for students, remote workers, and general office tasks. This pricing positions the NeoBook as an accessible entry point into the modern laptop market without sacrificing essential connectivity.

Budget laptop features user-upgradable DDR4 RAM and M.2 SSD slots

The laptop runs on an Intel Core 3 100U processor built on the Raptor Lake-U architecture. This six-core, eight-thread chip delivers clock speeds up to 4.7GHz for standard productivity workloads. Chuwi equipped the NeoBook with a 14-inch display that offers a 1920×1200 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. The screen peaks at 300 nits of brightness, which is sufficient for indoor use.

Chuwi prioritized user serviceability in the NeoBook design. The system includes two SO-DIMM slots for DDR4 memory, allowing buyers to upgrade from the base 8GB or the mid-tier 16GB configurations. Storage is also flexible, with two M.2 2280 slots. The 8GB model ships with a 256GB SATA SSD, while the 16GB version includes a faster 512GB PCIe Gen3 SSD.

The chassis weighs 1.2kg and measures 16.4mm thick, keeping the device portable for daily commutes. Chuwi included a comprehensive set of ports, including USB Type-C, USB Type-A, HDMI, and an RJ-45 Ethernet jack. A microSD card slot and a 720P camera with a physical privacy shutter are also present. The laptop houses a 53.38Wh battery that supports 65W charging.

The NeoBook offers a fully upgradable core and storage configuration for under $500. Buyers can choose between the entry-level 8GB/256GB model at $409 or the 16GB/512GB variant at $499. This flexibility allows users to extend the laptop's lifespan through simple component swaps.
