Rockstar Games is rolling out a substantial update for GTA Online that introduces a complex new heist alongside cross-generational platform upgrades. The Kortz Center Heist requires players to coordinate multi-stage operations and plan detailed escape routes before attempting the mission. This expansion arrives as the studio prepares to migrate legacy player data from older consoles to modern hardware systems.
New multi-stage mission requires Mansion property purchase alongside free console upgrades to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
The update centers on the Kortz Center Heist, which functions as a multi-stage operation demanding careful infiltration and escape planning. Players must first purchase a Mansion property and install an Art Studio extension within that location to unlock access to the mission. GTA+ subscribers receive a significant advantage by getting a two million dollar discount when acquiring the required Mansion.
The platform upgrade path allows owners of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions to migrate their existing save files directly to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. This migration preserves both single-player story progress and online character data across generations without requiring separate purchases. PC Legacy users can also transition to GTA V Enhanced, which adds ray-traced ambient occlusion and global illumination lighting effects.
The Kortz Center Heist serves as the primary focus of this summer update while platform migrations address technical limitations on older hardware. Players who completed previous operations will find their progress intact within the new system architecture. The studio continues to support legacy titles by providing free upgrade paths that eliminate financial barriers for existing owners.
