Embark Studios is reportedly testing two new player-versus-environment map conditions for ARC Raiders, signaling a shift toward cooperative gameplay features. The developer has been evaluating modes that emphasize PvE dynamics over traditional extraction-shooter combat.

The first condition, titled Rebellion Incident, introduces a low-difficulty environment where players start as friendly entities by default. Participants can choose to go rogue and become Traitors, turning against other Raiders during the session.

A second test mode called Double King places both major ARC bosses—the Matriarch and Queen—on the map simultaneously. Players must coordinate to take down these two high-level threats in a single encounter.

Embark Studios recently announced a slower update schedule, limiting major releases to two per year. The next scheduled update is set for October 2026, which may delay any official confirmation or rollout of these new map conditions.

ARC Raiders has surpassed 16 million copies sold since its launch in October 2025. This milestone highlights strong player retention and supports the studio's focus on expanding PvE content to serve that community.
