GPD announced the G2 on April 29. GPD announced the GPD G2, a compact desktop chassis featuring an integrated power supply. The chassis uses an aluminum-magnesium alloy construction. The device integrates an 800W ATX 3.1 Gold power supply directly inside the case. This internal power supply achieves 92 percent or higher efficiency. The unit provides a single 12V-2×6 output with dual PCIe 8-Pin adapters for graphics power.

The GPD G2 supports multiple connection modes for expansion. Users can connect via the MCIO interface alone for full-speed graphics without extra ports. Alternatively, they can use USB4 v2 only to enable other interfaces while reducing graphics bandwidth. The system also supports simultaneous MCIO and USB4 v2 connections for full expansion. The MCIO interface operates at PCIe Gen4 x8 speeds. The USB4 v2 port supports 80Gbps symmetric and 120Gbps asymmetric modes.
