Youyeetoo has introduced the K1, a compact modular computer designed for flexible deployment in small spaces. The system splits into two distinct parts to simplify upgrades and repairs.

Compact hardware splits into processor and carrier boards for flexible deployment

The device centers on an Intel N100 processor module that measures 82 by 71 millimeters. This compute block connects to a larger carrier board sized at 134 by 92 millimeters, which handles all external connections and expansion slots.

The carrier board provides extensive connectivity options for builders and integrators. It features dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, HDMI output, mini HDMI, USB-C, four USB Type-A connectors, and an eDP display interface. Developers can access hardware controls through 27 GPIO pins, UART, I2C, and SPI headers.

Storage flexibility defines the K1 architecture with multiple drive options available. The compute module includes built-in eMMC storage, while the carrier board offers an M.2 2280 slot for NVMe or SATA drives alongside a dedicated SATA connector. The system supports Windows 10, Windows 11, Ubuntu, Debian, and OpenWrt operating systems.

Youyeetoo positions the K1 as a versatile solution for light desktop tasks, home servers, routers, and kiosk applications. Pricing starts at $210 for the base configuration.

The modular design allows users to swap the processor module without replacing the entire system. The design appeals to hobbyists and engineers seeking adaptable components for specialized applications.
