Microsoft is reshaping the Xbox Game Pass library for late July and early August, and subscribers need to plan their queues carefully. The upcoming wave adds several high-profile titles while removing eight established games from the service. This shift matters because players will lose access to critical indie hits and strategy staples on July 31.

Microsoft updates the library with new arrivals and a July 31 departure deadline
The new arrivals span multiple genres and platforms, including cloud, console, handheld, and PC. Microsoft confirmed that Halo: Campaign Evolved will join the library on July 28. This remake of the original Halo runs on a new engine and supports four-player co-op.
Technical details for the Halo title clarify that it excludes multiplayer modes. The package includes extra missions alongside the Chief's original introduction. Other new additions include Corsair Cove, a pirate-themed city builder that utilizes cliff walls for construction.
Game Freak's upcoming RPG, Beast of Reincarnation, arrives on August 4 for cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld, and PC. Microsoft also listed several other titles arriving this month, such as The Planet Crafter on July 21 and Hell is Us on July 23. Heretic and Hexen will join the service on August 4.
Eight games are leaving Xbox Game Pass on July 31. The departing titles include Back to the Dawn, Celeste, Crusader Kings 3, and Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord. My Friendly Neighborhood, Rain World, Sniper Elite Resistance, and Whiskerwood also exit the service on that date.
Subscribers should prioritize these releases before the July 31 cutoff. The service continues to rotate its library with new first-party and third-party content. Players can access these titles immediately upon their release dates without additional purchases.
