Thermalright TR-APFX1000: 1000W PSU in 100mm Depth for Mini Builds

Thermalright has introduced the TR-APFX1000, a power supply designed for builders who need high wattage in a very small case. This 1000W unit fits into a compact 125x100x64mm form factor, which allows it to fit into mini-ITX or micro-ATX cases that typically struggle with standard power supplies. Users building compact systems can now access high-end power without sacrificing internal space.

The TR-APFX1000 supports the latest ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards to ensure compatibility with modern hardware. It features a native 12V-2×6 connector, which simplifies cabling for high-power graphics cards. The internal design uses a half-bridge LLC DC-to-DC topology to manage power conversion efficiently.

Efficiency is a key feature of this unit, as it carries the 80 Plus Platinum certification. Thermalright claims the unit achieves over 92% efficiency at half load with a 115V input. The cooling system relies on a 92mm fluid dynamic bearing fan that adjusts speed based on temperature. Internal components include Japanese 105°C main capacitors and Japanese solid capacitors for durability.

Thermalright offers the TR-APFX1000 in two color options with different pricing. The black version is priced at 809 CNY (around $120), which is around $120. The white version costs 939 CNY (around $139), or approximately $139. Both variants come with a 10-year warranty from the manufacturer.

Independent testing is still required to verify ripple, transient response, hold-up time, protection thresholds, and sustained output performance. Until those results are available, the efficiency and stability claims remain based on manufacturer data. The unit is currently listed for sale in China.
