Synology has announced three new RackStation enterprise storage servers: the RS6426xs+, RS4826xs+, and RS3626xs. The company unveiled these high-performance storage systems on May 6, 2024. These models target enterprise environments requiring scalable capacity and high throughput.
All three units utilize Intel Xeon D-1700 series processors based on the Ice Lake D architecture. The flagship RS6426xs+ offers 16 native drive bays and expands to 64 bays with additional enclosures. It delivers 165K IOPS bandwidth. The RS4826xs+ provides 12 native bays expandable to 48 bays with 135K IOPS bandwidth. The RS3626xs features 12 native bays expandable to 36 bays with 115K IOPS bandwidth.
Each RackStation model includes dual 10GbE ports as standard networking. Users can upgrade to 25GbE or Fibre Channel interfaces for specialized connectivity needs. The systems incorporate dual power modules for hardware redundancy. They also support SHA dual-machine hot standby to enable minute-level failover capabilities.
Synology has not disclosed pricing or availability dates for the new RackStation lineup. The announcement focuses on technical specifications and architectural upgrades rather than commercial details. The company positions these servers as solutions for businesses needing robust, expandable storage infrastructure.
