Underwater survival sequel hits global markets with new engine technology
The title runs on Unreal Engine 5 and utilizes Nanite and Lumen technologies. It targets a new planet setting that replaces the original 4546B. The developers designed the story to be self-contained for newcomers. Gameplay features Adaptations and Biomods instead of traditional skill trees. Base building uses a sculptural extrusion system inspired by 3D modeling clay.

The game costs $29.99 USD. Minimum system requirements include Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor, 12 GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 1660 6GB or Radeon RX 5500 XT 6GB graphics card. Recommended specs call for Windows 11, an Intel Core i7-13700 or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 3070 8GB or Radeon RX 6700 XT 8GB graphics card. Players need 50 GB of available storage space and DirectX 12 support. The developers also target a locked 30 FPS on low settings for Steam Deck.
Unknown Worlds estimates the Early Access phase will last between two and three years. Optional four-player co-op is available with crossplay between Xbox and PC. The developers describe the experience as a single-player game you can add people to. No weapons are provided in the game. Defense relies on stealth, resonators, and flares. Roadmap updates include Early Access 1.1 for quality of life and 1.2 for co-op features.

Anthony Galagos estimated the average play time for the current Early Access content at 14 to 20 hours. He described the situation with the phrase everybody's gone to the rapture. The game is available on Steam and Epic Games Store for PC.
