Sony has unveiled the WH-1000XX The Collexion, a new ultra-premium wireless headphone model launched globally on April 10, 2025. The release marks the 10th anniversary of the WH-1000X series.
Metal accents and vegan leather define the design
The headphones feature metal accents, a wider vegan leather headband, and more ergonomic earcups. They are equipped with 30mm drivers using a unidirectional carbon composite dome, which Sony claims improves high-frequency reproduction and instrument separation compared to the WH-1000XM6. The audio processing includes DSEE Ultimate and three 360 Reality Audio Upmix modes. A 12-microphone array handles calls and noise cancellation. Battery life is rated at up to 24 hours, a reduction from the 30 hours of the WH-1000XM6.
Pricing is set at 649.99 USD (about $650) in the US, 849.99 CAD (about $619) in Canada, 549 GBP (about $736) in the UK, and 629 EUR (about $733) in the Eurozone. The headphones are available globally starting April 10, 2025.
The WH-1000XX The Collexion sits above Sony's existing WH-1000XM6 lineup, which includes a Sandstone color variant and offers up to 30 hours of battery life at a lower price point. The new model targets the premium segment with upgraded materials and a shorter battery life.
