SilverStone has launched the FSM08-MS, a 5.25-inch drive bay enclosure that holds up to eight M.2 NVMe SSDs. The device is designed for users who need high-density storage in a standard optical drive bay.
Eight M.2 NVMe SSDs in a single 5.25-inch bay
The enclosure supports M.2 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 M-key PCIe NVMe SSDs. Its backplane provides eight SlimSAS 4i (SFF-8654) interfaces, each supporting PCIe Gen4 with 8 GB/s of bandwidth. Installation is tool-less. Cooling comes from a large aluminum heatsink and two 4020 dual-ball bearing fans. Power is supplied via two SATA 15-Pin connectors.
