Consumer allocation stays stable
Other manufacturers are exiting the market, which is causing supply shortages and pushing NAND flash prices up. Consumers are adapting by purchasing lower-capacity memory. Sandisk reserves 10 to 20 percent of its wafers for consumer products.
Despite high prices, extreme shortages that prevent essential PC builds are unlikely, according to Sandisk Korea. The company's allocation for consumer products is stable.
