Intel Capital Invests $178M in QuantWare for 10,000-Qubit Quantum Processor

QuantWare has raised $178 million in Series B funding. The round was led by Capital. The company plans to use the investment to build a new quantum chip factory called KiloFab.

KiloFab will boost production capacity 20x

QuantWare developed what it calls the world's first 10,000-qubit superconducting quantum processor. The processor uses a modular chiplet architecture with 3D packaging. This approach replaces traditional monolithic designs by connecting multiple quantum bit modules into a larger processor.

The KiloFab factory is expected to increase QuantWare's production capacity by 20 times. The company says it is the largest commercial QPU supplier by shipment volume. It has shipped to over 50 customers in 20 countries.

QuantWare has not confirmed a timeline for the factory's completion or when the 10,000-qubit processor will be available to customers.
