Pulsar is testing a new in-store mouse customization system called Pulsar Playground. The system uses AI image recognition to analyze a customer's hand size and shape. It then asks questions about grip style and game requirements to recommend the best mouse for that person.

AI analyzes hand size and grip style
The system is currently in beta at Pulsar's flagship store in Seoul and other stores in South Korea. Pulsar has long argued that shape is the most important factor in choosing a mouse. The Playground system aims to take the guesswork out of finding the right shape.
Playground uses AI image recognition to measure hand dimensions. It combines that data with answers about grip style and the types of games the customer plays. The system then suggests specific Pulsar mouse models that match those criteria.

Automatic grip recognition in development
Pulsar is also developing automatic grip style recognition. That feature would let the system identify a customer's grip without needing to ask. It is not yet available in the beta.
The beta is limited to South Korea for now. There is no word on a wider rollout or pricing for the service. Pulsar has not announced any plans to bring Playground to other regions.
Pulsar's Playground system could help gamers find a mouse that fits their hand and play style. The company's focus on shape as the key factor sets it apart from other mouse makers.
