Microsoft is refreshing the Surface Laptop 8 with Snapdragon X2 chips. The new model brings an OLED display option for the first time in the series. A new 'Jade' color joins the existing Platinum, Gold/Dune, and Black options.
Snapdragon X2 powers the new Surface Laptop 8
The Surface Laptop 8 will be available in 13.8-inch and 15-inch sizes. Both sizes use PixelSense LCD touchscreens, with an OLED version on the way according to the leak. The device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite (12-core) or X2 Plus (10-core) processors, reaching up to 4.0 GHz turbo.

Memory options go up to 32 GB LPDDR5X RAM. Storage is handled by user-replaceable SSDs in 512 GB, 1 TB, or 2 TB capacities. The integrated NPU delivers up to 80 TOPS for AI tasks.
Battery capacity is 54 Wh for the 13.8-inch model and 66 Wh for the 15-inch model. Video playback is rated at up to 20 hours and 19 hours respectively. The laptop launches globally on June 16, 2026, according to the leak from Winfuture.
The Surface Laptop 8 follows the Surface Laptop 7, which used Snapdragon X chips. The new model upgrades to the X2 generation and adds the OLED screen option. Pricing has not been disclosed in the leak.
