Microsoft has launched the Surface Pro 12, powered by Intel Core Ultra 300 series processors. The version is available first, while a Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 variant is expected later this year.

Intel version launches first

The device features a 13-inch PixelSense touchscreen. The base configuration includes a Core Ultra 5 335 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 256GB removable SSD. The highest configuration offers a Core Ultra 7 366H, 64GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. Ports include dual Thunderbolt 4, and wireless connectivity covers Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The rear camera is 10MP with 4K video, and the front camera is 14MP at 1440p. Battery life is rated at up to 17 hours. The keyboard attaches magnetically via Surface Connect and is compatible with older accessories.

Pricing starts at 1949.99 USD (about $1,950) for the base model and goes up to 4399.99 USD (about $4,400) for the highest configuration. The device is available in the US starting May 20, 2025.

The Surface Pro 12 is positioned for the commercial and enterprise market, which accounts for its higher starting price. A consumer version is expected to be cheaper. An OLED screen option may be available but is not yet listed on the purchase page. The highest configuration is also not yet available in the configurator.

Microsoft has not confirmed the exact launch window for the Snapdragon X2 version.
