The Maia 200 accelerator chip features six 12-layer 36GB memory stacks, providing 216GB of total capacity and 7 TB/s of bandwidth. It offers 30% better performance per dollar than Microsoft's previous-generation hardware, according to the Korea Herald.

Microsoft has deployed the Maia 200 at its data center in Des Moines, Iowa, with availability expected in 2025.
The partnership was highlighted when SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-Jung met Bill Gates and Satya Nadella at the Microsoft CEO Summit 2026. The move signals Microsoft's strategy to diversify its AI hardware supply chain beyond NVIDIA.
