Micron expects a prolonged shortage across its HBM, DRAM, and NAND memory products that will extend well beyond 2026. The company attributes this tight supply to sustained artificial intelligence demand outpacing current manufacturing output.
HBM4 production ramping twice as fast as HBM3E while shortage extends beyond 2026.
HBM4 production is currently ramping at twice the speed of HBM3E 12-High during the previous year. Development for HBM4E is also underway, with plans targeting a calendar year 2027 ramp using the 1-gamma node.

AI workloads continue to drive significant demand across the broader memory market. This sustained pressure keeps supply tight for high-bandwidth memory, standard DRAM, and NAND flash storage products.
Micron management highlighted these constraints during recent industry discussions at the TMC Conference. Analysts from JPMorgan have also noted that the current shortage cycle is likely to persist longer than initially anticipated.
