The company introduced a manufacturing method called FLiPP that replaces the standard metal mask process with photolithography. FLiPP stands for a specific technical approach to defining the red, green, and blue subpixels on an OLED panel. LG Display uses photolithography to etch these subpixel patterns directly, which removes the deformation issues caused by the metal mask. This method allows the company to create higher resolution pixels and support larger panel sizes without the usual quality drops.

The technical improvements come from a better pixel aperture ratio, which means more light escapes the panel for every unit of power used.
