KTC M27P6S Monitor Adds 2,304-Zone Mini-LED and Glossy Panel for $497

KTC is updating its M27P6S monitor with a glossy panel finish and double the local dimming zones, a change that matters for gamers and creators who want higher contrast without the glare of a traditional screen. The new Obsidian coating eliminates the matte texture found on the previous M27P6 model while maintaining a 0% haze rating to reduce reflections. This shift targets users who prefer the deeper blacks and sharper color pop of a glossy surface but still need anti-glare performance in bright rooms.

Updated display doubles local dimming zones and switches to glossy finish

The display uses a 27-inch AU Optronics Fast IPS panel that delivers a 3840×2160 resolution at 160Hz. KTC adds dual-mode functionality that lets users switch to a 1920×1080 resolution for a 320Hz refresh rate when playing competitive shooters. This flexibility allows gamers to prioritize either visual fidelity or frame rate depending on the game genre. The monitor carries VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification, which reflects its peak brightness capabilities in high dynamic range content.

KTC doubles the Mini-LED backlight zones from 1,152 on the M27P6 to 2,304 on the new M27P6S. This increase in local dimming zones allows for more precise control over brightness and contrast, reducing blooming around bright objects on dark backgrounds. The panel reaches 1,400 nits in HDR mode and 550 nits in standard dynamic range. Color accuracy remains strong with 99% DCI-P3, 97% Adobe RGB, and 99% sRGB coverage.

The M27P6S includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a USB Type-C port with 65W power delivery. KTC also integrates a USB 3.0 hub and KVM switching functionality for users managing multiple computers. The monitor specifies a 2ms gray-to-gray response time to minimize motion blur during fast-paced action. Connectivity options support modern GPUs and laptops that require high bandwidth and power delivery.

KTC lists the M27P6S at 636 SGD (around $497) on its Singapore website. The company has not yet confirmed pricing or availability for the US or European markets. The model has not appeared on the company's US store, so North American release details remain unconfirmed. Buyers in Singapore can currently purchase the monitor, while international customers must wait for official distribution channels to open.
