KIOXIA has announced the XG10, a new client SSD that uses the PCIe 5.0 x4 interface. The drive is designed for high-performance PCs and will be available in M.2 Type 2280 form factor.
PCIe 5.0 interface and BiCS FLASH NAND
The XG10 offers sequential read speeds of 14,000MB/s and sequential write speeds of 12,000MB/s. Random read and write performance reaches 2,000,000 IOPS and 1,600,000 IOPS respectively. The SSD comes in 512GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities. The 512GB and 1TB models use BiCS FLASH 6th generation TLC NAND, while the 2TB and 4TB models use BiCS FLASH 8th generation TLC NAND. The drive supports TCG Opal v2.02 for self-encrypting drive (SED) security.
According to KIOXIA, the XG10 delivers up to two times faster sequential read speeds and more than two times faster sequential write speeds compared to the previous generation XG8.
PCs equipped with the XG10 are expected to ship from the second quarter of 2026. KIOXIA has not confirmed the exact launch window for the SSD itself.
