Intel has set a new world record for CPU frequency. The Core i9-14900KF reached 9206 MHz under liquid nitrogen cooling. That is the highest clock speed ever recorded for any processor.
Record achieved with liquid nitrogen cooling
For the record attempt, the chip ran with only 7 cores and 7 threads enabled at 1.348V. The overclock was performed on an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 APEX motherboard paired with 16 GB of DDR5-5792 (CL32) memory. The standard Core i9-14900KF features 24 cores (8 P-Core + 16 E-Core) and 32 threads, with 36 MB of L3 cache and 32 MB of L2 cache. It has a base clock of 6.00 GHz out of the box, a 125W TDP, and a maximum turbo power of 253W.

The previous record of 9117 MHz was held by the Core i9-14900KS, set by overclocker Elmor. The new record was verified by HWBOT.
Intel has not confirmed the exact cooling setup or the overclocker responsible for this run.
