ID-COOLING Frost X 620 Shadow Air Cooler Launches for $39.79

ID-COOLING has released the Frost X 620 Shadow air cooler, a compact cooling solution designed to fit into smaller PC cases without sacrificing thermal performance. This hybrid single and dual-tower architecture allows users to install taller RAM sticks or larger graphics cards that might otherwise block standard coolers. The hybrid single and dual-tower design ensures compatibility with most modern components while maintaining a compact profile.

Hybrid single and dual tower design targets compact builds

The Frost X 620 Shadow utilizes a hybrid tower structure that combines the footprint of a single-tower design with the heat dissipation potential of a dual-tower unit. This configuration relies on six nickel-plated heatpipes arranged in an asymmetric layout to efficiently transfer heat from the CPU to the aluminum fins. The base of the cooler features a nickel-plated copper construction joined via reflow soldering, which helps maintain consistent contact with the processor surface.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: 133 x 122 x 160mm
  • Heatpipes: 6 nickel-plated heatpipes, asymmetric layout
  • Base: Nickel-plated copper base with回流焊 (reflow soldering)
  • Front Fan Size: 120mm (17mm thickness)
  • Front Fan Speed: 500-1850 RPM

The cooler ships with two distinct 120mm fans to optimize airflow and static pressure for different parts of the heatsink. The front fan is a thin 17mm unit that spins between 500 and 1850 RPM, delivering 65.2 CFM of airflow with a maximum noise level of 33.9 dB(A). The middle fan is a thicker 25mm model that operates from 0 to 2500 RPM, providing 79.7 CFM of airflow and 3.65 mmH2O of static pressure while keeping noise under 31.0 dB(A).

ID-COOLING includes FROST X45 thermal paste and a 1-to-2 power splitter cable in the box to simplify the installation process. The cooler supports a wide range of modern platforms, including LGA 1700 and LGA 1851 sockets, as well as AM4 and AM5 sockets. This broad compatibility ensures that the cooler works with current and previous generation processors from both major CPU manufacturers.

The Frost X 620 Shadow launched in China on August 4, 2024, with a price of 269 CNY (around $39.79). Priced at 269 CNY (around $39.79), the Frost X 620 Shadow offers a cost-effective cooling solution for various CPU platforms. With support for Intel LGA 1700/1851 and AMD AM4/AM5 sockets, the cooler provides broad compatibility for new PC builds.
