Google is developing a new chip for its Pixel 12 series. The processor is called Tensor G7. Details about the chip have emerged from a leaker on Telegram known as MysticLeaks.
Leaked codename and process node
The Tensor G7 carries the codename Lajolla or LaJolla. It will likely be built on TSMC's improved 2nm manufacturing process. This suggests Google is sticking with TSMC for its next-generation silicon.
The Tensor G7 is expected to arrive in 2026 alongside the Pixel 12 family. Google has not confirmed the launch window.
Google's Tensor chips have historically focused on efficiency and AI features rather than raw performance. The Tensor G7 is not expected to compete directly with flagship chips from rivals in terms of benchmark scores.
