FriendlyElec ships a revised version of its NanoPi M6 single-board computer. The NanoPi M6V2 brings a Rockchip RK3588S SoC with AI acceleration and HDMI 2.1 output. It targets developers and hobbyists looking for a Raspberry Pi alternative.
Rockchip RK3588S powers the new board
The board measures 62 x 90 mm and uses the Rockchip RK3588S system-on-chip. That chip packs four Cortex-A76 and four Cortex-A55 cores. It also includes 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
Specifications
- SoC: Rockchip RK3588S
- CPU: 4x Cortex-A76 + 4x Cortex-A55
- RAM: 8 GB LPDDR5
- AI: 6 TOPS
- Video: HDMI 2.1 up to 7680×4320 @ 60 Hz
On the AI side, the SoC delivers up to 6 TOPS for tasks like object recognition. Video output goes through HDMI 2.1, supporting resolutions up to 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz. Storage options include eMMC, an M.2 2280 SSD via PCIe 2.1, and a microSD card slot.
Networking comes via Gigabit Ethernet. An IR receiver is on board, and a 30-pin GPIO header connects sensors and actuators. The board is available now for $172 USD.
