Flyaudio EVO 4 NAS Launches with Rockchip RK3588 for Around $298

Flyaudio has updated its EVO 4 network-attached storage lineup with an Arm-based model that targets budget-conscious home users. This updated model utilizes a Rockchip processor instead of Intel components, providing a more affordable entry point for users who do not require x86 architecture. This configuration enhances accessibility for users focused on file storage and local AI capabilities instead of demanding desktop emulation tasks.

Arm-based storage unit targets budget home users with AI features

The updated EVO 4 runs on the Rockchip RK3588 system-on-chip, which uses an 8nm manufacturing process. The processor integrates four Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz. It also includes an ARM Mali-G610 MC4 graphics unit and a three-core NPU delivering 6 TOPS of compute power.

Flyaudio equips this Arm variant with 8GB of DDR5 memory and 64GB of eMMC internal storage. The chassis retains four SATA drive bays and two M.2 slots for expansion. The company states the system supports up to 144TB of total storage capacity across the drives.

The device supports Dolby per-frame color calibration to enhance home cinema playback. It also runs 10-billion parameter local AI models to improve photo search accuracy. Flyaudio includes five years of high-speed data traffic and lifetime remote access with the purchase.

Flyaudio lists the barebone version of the EVO 4 at 1999 CNY (around $298), which is around $298. The Arm-based model went on sale in China on September 23, 2024, at 16:00.

This release adds a new processor option to the EVO 4 series without changing the physical drive configuration. Customers seeking energy efficiency and essential network storage functions can select the Arm-based version at a reduced price.
