CHUWI UniBox AI495 Pro Brings 192GB RAM and 300B LLMs to Mini PCs

CHUWI has introduced the UniBox AI495 Pro, a compact mini workstation designed to bring heavy local AI workloads to small form factors. This release matters because it proves that 192GB of unified memory can fit into a 2.9-liter chassis while still supporting massive language models. Users who need to run large language models locally without cloud dependency now have a viable hardware option.

The system is built around the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor, which AMD launched in May under the codename Gorgon Halo. This chip serves as the central brain for the device, handling both general computing and specialized AI tasks. CHUWI also revealed a lower-tier model called the UniBox AI395, which targets a slightly different segment of the market.

Engineering constraints required CHUWI to pack 192GB of LPDDR5x-8533 memory into the small enclosure. The integrated Radeon 8065S GPU uses RDNA 3.5 architecture with 40 compute units running at 3000MHz. The device measures just 209.6 by 209.6 by 67 millimeters, making it significantly smaller than traditional desktop towers.

Storage capacity reaches 2TB via three M.2 slots, and the system ships with Windows 11 Pro. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, dual 10G Ethernet ports, dual USB4 interfaces, and an OCuLink port for external graphics. AMD claims the GPU performance exceeds that of the NVIDIA RTX 4060 Mobile in specific benchmarks.

The hardware meets Microsoft Copilot+ PC standards, which ensures compatibility with modern AI features in Windows. CHUWI and AMD state that the 131 TOPS of AI compute allows the machine to run 300B parameter LLMs locally using 4-bit quantization. This capability enables the execution of models like Baidu ERNIE 4.5 300B directly on the device.

Pricing and release dates remain unconfirmed as CHUWI plans to announce these details later. The company also introduced the UniBox AI395, which features 128GB of RAM and supports running 235B parameter models. Buyers waiting for specific cost information will need to wait for the official announcement.
