Bungie has announced that the June 9 Update will serve as the final major content drop for Destiny 2. This release marks the end of a decade-long run for the title, as no further expansions or additions will follow this patch. The developer framed the update as a comprehensive celebration of player achievements.

Final major content drop marks end of decade-long run with no future expansions planned.

The patch introduces Legendary Marks earned through game-wide Triumphs. These rewards grant free armor ornaments, accessories, and weapon engrams to players. Bungie also brings Pantheon 2.0 as a permanent addition with staggered boss activities starting on June 9. All raid, dungeon, and destination gear will feature full Tier parity along with new perks and set bonuses.

Three new Aspects arrive in this update. Crackshot joins Solar Hunters, Soul Siphon arrives for Void Warlocks, and Shieldburst is added to Solar Titans. The patch also introduces True Exotic armor transmog on June 9. This feature allows players to apply legendary and lower-tier ornaments to Exotic armor in PvE environments.

The announcement concludes a long development cycle that has defined the live-service gaming landscape for ten years. Bungie positions this final update as a retrospective look at player progress rather than a push toward new narrative arcs or mechanical overhauls.
