Asus has introduced the 2026 ROG Zephyrus Duo, model number GX651. This new laptop retains the dual-screen design of its predecessor but features significant internal changes. The device aims to improve multitasking capabilities through its unique hardware layout.
Graphics card operates at lower 135-watt power limit compared to the previous 175-watt configuration.
The 2026 model uses a mobile GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card with 24 GB of VRAM. The previous 2023 GX650 model used an RTX 4090 with 16 GB of VRAM. The new GPU operates at a maximum of 135 Watts in Turbo mode. This is a reduction from the 175 Watts used by the older RTX 4090.
Processor power limits have also decreased significantly. The 2026 CPU runs at a maximum of 70 Watts. The 2023 model allowed up to 130 Watts for its processor. Asus states that this lower power consumption sacrifices multi-core CPU performance. The company argues that the dual identical touchscreens provide better multitasking benefits to offset this loss.
Performance benchmarks show small differences between the two generations. The newer GPU delivers similar graphics performance despite the lower power limit. Single-core performance is slightly higher on the 2026 model due to the newer processor generation. A high-end SKU with 32 GB of RAM costs more than 5500 $ (about $5,500).
Asus has not confirmed the official launch window for the ROG Zephyrus Duo GX651.
