ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Beta BIOS Update Adds AMD EXPO ULL Support

ASUS released beta BIOS updates for ROG Crosshair X870E motherboards. The update brings EXPO Ultra Low Latency support to compatible systems. Users can now access low-level DDR5 timing controls in the motherboard firmware.

Beta firmware enables ultra-low latency memory tuning and low-level DDR5 controls on the ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E motherboard platform.

The firmware targets the ROG Crosshair X870E platform. It ships with version 2305 for most boards and versions 0915 or 0515 for selected models. The update relies on AGESA ComboAM5 1.3.0.1b as its foundation.

The BIOS adds setup items under Ai Tweaker DRAM Timing Control. These include Tccd_L, TccdL_WR, and TccdL_WR2 controls. Users can adjust these parameters for fine-tuned memory performance.

ASUS lists support for the ROG ARCANA DDR5 20TH memory kit. This kit features a 48GB capacity, DDR5-6000 speed, and CL26 timings. AMD states that certified EXPO ULL kits deliver a 4% average FPS increase compared to non-ULL EXPO memory.

ASUS warns users not to use older cmo files with the new firmware. The company notes these older files may cause problems with AGESA 1.3.0.1b BIOS versions. Users must ensure compatibility between their current BIOS and the new update.
