ASUS Motherboard Prices Rise for Intel Z890, Z790, AMD X870

ASUS is raising prices on Intel and AMD motherboards starting in August, which means buyers will face steeper costs for new PC builds. The price hikes affect mainstream and high-end models, with increases ranging from a few dollars to over ten dollars per board. These price adjustments will affect the cost of system upgrades for consumers planning builds in the near term.

The adjustments apply to specific chipset families across both major CPU vendors. Intel Z890, Z790, and B860 boards see increases of 20 to 30 CNY (around $4,000-6,000 KRW (around $4.20)). AMD X870 models face the largest jump at 30 to 50 CNY (around $6,000-10,000 KRW (around $7.00)). B850 high-end boards also rise by 20 CNY (around $4,000 KRW (around $0.00)).

Entry-level and older generation boards remain largely unaffected for now. Intel B760 main models increase by 20 CNY (around $4,000 KRW (around $0.00)), while entry-level versions rise by just 5 CNY (around $1,000 KRW (around $0.00)). H-series boards see modest hikes of 5 to 10 CNY (around $1,000-2,000 KRW (around $1.40)). Previous generation 600 series AM5 boards are currently exempt from these increases.

ASUS attributes these price changes to rising raw material costs and supply chain pressures. Copper, capacitors, and other components have become more expensive, driving up production expenses. PCB prices are also expected to rise significantly by 2026 due to ongoing shortages. Distributors warn that new price adjustments could occur in the third quarter of 2026.
