AMD released a driver update that fixes a technical issue for PC gamers using emulation software. The new release targets users running RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 graphics cards on Windows systems.
Driver update resolves emulation software compilation error for PlayStation 3 emulator on Windows systems with Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 series graphics cards.
The Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition version 26.6.1 addresses the problem directly. This patch resolves a shader compilation bug that previously broke RPCS3, the popular PlayStation 3 emulator. The issue first appeared in driver version 26.3.1 and stayed unresolved until this latest release.
AMD did not list the emulator fix or any shader corrections in its official release notes for version 26.6.1. Instead, the company highlighted game support updates for F1 25, World of Tanks: HEAT, Subnautica 2, Marvel Rivals, and Enshrouded. The release also covers changes to Zero RPM mode behavior on the RX 9000 series graphics cards.
The fix applies specifically to Windows users with Radeon RX 7000 or RX 9000 series GPUs running the emulator. The driver is available for installation through the built-in AMD Software updater or by downloading the installer directly from AMD's official site.
