NCSoft confirms global PC release date and console roadmap
The game launches on PC via Steam and the PURPLE Launcher on October 5, 2026. Founder's Pack owners get early access starting September 30. Aion 2 runs on Unreal Engine 5, which allows the team to realize their vision for the game's visuals and performance. Namjoon Kim from NCSoft stated, "We're already working on it. DLSS 4.5 is already live in Aion 2. As for DLSS 5, we're preparing it and working together with NVIDIA."
Players can choose from eight classes at launch: Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spirit Master, Cleric, and Chanter. Character customization offers over 200 options, and the wardrobe includes more than 800 unlockable clothing pieces. These items are available purely through exploration and questing. The game also features over 200 pets and mounts to gather. Controllers are fully supported for PC play.
Namjoon Kim confirmed the console roadmap, stating, "As a matter of fact, we're preparing a console launch as well. But our priority is the global launch first, and console support will follow after that." Cross-play between PC and console is unlikely because the teams view them as separate operations.
