Fortnite Returns to Apple App Store After Epic v Apple Legal Battle

Fortnite has returned to the Apple App Store for iOS and Mac as of January 25, 2025, after a prolonged legal battle between Epic Games and Apple.

Epic calls for regulatory enforcement

Epic Games stated that it is confident that once Apple is forced to show its costs, governments will not allow Apple's fees to stand. Tim Sweeney said the return comes as the companies head into the final battle of Epic v Apple in court.

Epic Games called on regulators to enforce laws against Apple's fees, accusing Apple of evading laws with scare screens, fees, and onerous requirements. The company urged regulators to create an open and fair mobile app ecosystem.

Tim Sweeney noted that Apple has fragmented iOS features and fees by territory and intentionally delayed the pursuit of justice. The litigation between the two companies continues.
