Record profit creates massive bonus pool

The company typically pays 10% of operating profit as employee bonuses. That implies a bonus pool of about 3.7 trillion won ($2.5 billion) for the first quarter alone.

SK hynix employees have become highly sought-after in South Korea's marriage market due to the large bonuses. The financial results highlight the company's strong performance in the memory chip sector.
