Intel has announced a multi-year strategic partnership with McLaren Racing. The chipmaker will become the official computing partner for McLaren's Formula 1, IndyCar, and F1 Sim Racing teams.
Intel returns to Formula 1
Intel Xeon and Core Ultra processors will power McLaren's critical performance workloads. Intel branding will appear on McLaren F1 cars starting from the Montreal Grand Prix. The Arrow McLaren IndyCar will feature Intel branding at the Freedom 250 and the 2027 Indy 500. McLaren F1 Sim Racing virtual cars will also carry Intel branding next season.
The partnership marks Intel's return to Formula 1, where it previously competed with AMD in the arena of motorsport sponsorships. McLaren Racing and Intel jointly announced the deal, which covers multiple racing series and esports.
Intel has not confirmed the financial terms or duration of the partnership. The company also did not disclose specific performance benchmarks for its processors in McLaren's workloads.
