Galaxy shared their performance review for their RTX 5080 HOF Extreme graphic card. The card is meant for those that want top-notch visual performance with no compromise. The performance was shown with the game 'Ninja Blade Zero'.

Galaxy RTX 5080 HOF Extreme features Swarovski Crystal accents and dual 12V-2×6 power connectors

The reason why it's important is that this card claims to have no problems with 4K path tracing. This is a big deal for next-gen gaming.

Specifications

  • Boost Clock (OC Mode): 2805MHz
  • TDP: 400W
  • Power Connectors: 2x 12V-2×6
  • Design: All-white, Swarovski Crystal
  • Performance Claim: 10% higher than RTX 5080 Founders Edition

Galaxy's RTX 5080 HOF Extreme is going to have unique all-white looks with some Swarovski Crystal touches. Galaxy claims this is the first consumer graphics card with the crystal elements. Also, there is a dual 12V-2×6 power connector design that follows the safety rules, but looks beautiful.

Galaxy's RTX 5080 HOF Extreme has a 2805MHz boost clock (OC Mode). To achieve high frequencies, the card needs 400W of power. Galaxy claims to have around 10% better performance compared to RTX 5080 Founders Edition. They also claim that if you overclock it, it can outperform RTX 4090D in some situations.

Galaxy showcases how the card can run 4K path tracing with no stress. Also, the card supports DLSS 4.5 to achieve high FPS in heavy situations. "Galaxy RTX 5080 HOF Extreme challenges this year's best domestic AAA title", as Galaxy shared. We have been following this card as you can see in our previous article, GALAX GeForce RTX 5080 HOF Extreme.

Galaxy presented the RTX 5080 HOF Extreme as a great high-performance card for 4K gaming. On top of that, you can make it look pretty and it's technically great. Perfect for those that care about visuals and FPS for latest games.

  1. Does the 400W TDP cause any thermal throttling in the 2024 driver stack? I saw similar issues with the 4090 FE.

    1. The review cites 4K path tracing with no pressure. The dual 12V-2×6 connectors should handle the load safely. No throttling mentioned in the summary.

  2. Claiming it beats the 4090D when overclocked is a stretch. The 4090D has more VRAM. I will wait for independent benchmarks before believing this.

  3. The kernel scheduler handles 400W spikes better now. Expect stable clocks in OC mode. The crystal accents are just marketing fluff.
