This is a grim situation for graphics card shoppers, as GPU prices around the world have risen for three months in a row. The average graphics card price rose by around 10% in October. If you add flagship RTX 5090, the price surge jumps to 11%. This means that gamers and content creators have to pay much more for the high-end graphics card compared to a few months ago.
Flagship costs soar while mid-range cards follow suit
NVIDIA's new flagship and mid-range graphics cards spearhead price increases. NVIDIA RTX 5090 is the most significant monthly price increase with 32%. Now, the graphics card costs US 9400 (approx. $9,400).
The 5080 increased by a notable margin, 22%. Now, you have to pay US 2200 (approx. $2,200) for the graphics card (in the US).
AMD and Intel are also in the same boat. Radeon RX 9060XT 16GB increased by 17%. Both RX 9070 and RX 9070XT rose by 12%. Intel Arc B580 also increased in price by about 10% within the same period.
If we don't count the wild RTX 5090, the average price for the graphics card is still 44% higher than the manufacturer suggested retail price. Currently, Canada has the highest price premium of 58.3%. This is a symptom of huge supply or demand issues in the country.
Meanwhile, other European countries like Germany and Poland also show this elevated price. Flagship graphics card is around 8000 EUR (approx. $8,916) in Germany and 38000 PLN (approx. $9,615) in Poland.
We have been monitoring Graphics Cards for a while. You can see our previous coverage on AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Leads to see what's going on with the market. The results show that all the big vendors have higher prices now. So, don't expect that the price will go down soon for consumers.

9400 dollars is actually insane for a gpu tbh
The article notes the RTX 5090 hit $9400 after a 32 percent monthly jump. That figure is way above the typical 10 percent average rise seen across the rest of the market in October.
I sold my old rig three years ago because prices got silly. Now I just watch from the sidelines with my tea
Is the RTX 5080 also jumping that high? The article says 2200 dollars but that feels steep for a mid range card.
Yes the RTX 5080 is listed at 2200 USD which is a 22 percent increase. It is definitely following the flagship upward trend.
I need more VRAM for my money not less. This pricing makes building a PC impossible right now 😅
Without benchmarks this price hike feels like a marketing stunt. I want to see frame rates before I pay a premium.
AMD RX 9070 XT only went up 12 percent. Maybe stick with red team for now?
Canada is paying 58 percent premium. That is brutal.
