AMD has just pushed out the new version (3.2.0) of their HIP Ray Tracing library. And this is a very important announcement for developers as far as upcoming mobile processors are concerned. This update brings support for three specific Integrated graphics IDs related to upcoming Medusa APU family.

Library update enables ray tracing for hybrid RDNA 4m and RDNA 3.5 graphics
This means that developers working on software related to the new chips, will now be able to compile the ray tracing related features without needing any additional driver changes. Essentially, this is a sign that AMD is gearing up its software stack to handle multi-architecture GPUs going forward.
With the new version of the library, there are three new specific iGPU ID's that are now getting supported. These include – GFX1171, GFX1170, and GFX115E. These IDs correspond to upcoming Medusa APU series.
AMD is planning to launch these APUs with Zen 6 based CPUS inside. Medusa is going to be AMD's mixed/multi-architecture take on the mobile graphics. It means that we are going to see a blend of different GPUs generations inside one processor. Which will help them offer different models to hit the performance and efficiency targets across different tiers.
Now for those of you who have been following the previous HIP-RT update, you might notice that some of the focus on balance and stability was similar. And with this new version, AMD is definitely going the extra mile with added support for upcoming Medusa chips. With both RDNA 4m and RDNA 3.5 GPU ID support added, it's clear that Zen 6 based APU's are going to be based on this mixed architecture approach. Hence, developers can now specifically target these architectures for verified ray-tracing related features.
AMD has announced the launch of HIP-RT 3.2.0 with the new support for three new Medusa iGPU IDs. This update brings the software readiness on par with the mixed/multi-architecture GPU that will be a part of upcoming Zen 6 based APU's. So this is going to set the stage ready for the new series of chips.
GFX1171 and GFX1170 are based on RDNA 4m architecture. As per some leaks, RDNA 4m will be a mixed architecture approach blending both RDNA 3.5 and RDNA 4.0. The GFX115E ID will be under the RDNA 3.5 architecture umbrella.
Reports suggest that it can be an Enhanced/Efficiency variant of RDNA 3.5 architecture (as per sources). This approach of having a split architecture helps AMD with more flexibility in designing APU's for various categories.
