Keychron has released a special edition variant for their Nape Pro linear trackball mouse. This special edition brings a different kind of feel and sound to the Nape Pro. In the Nape Pro SE model, Keychron added more weight and a scroll wheel that sounds like mechanical clicks.
Transparent shell variants and audio feedback define the new trackball edition
This is significant for the people who enjoy tactile experience or if they enjoy a heavier mouse. This is the version for those who would like to have a more conventional input method but still want to stay in the trackball game.
Specifications
- Weight: 48g
- Scroll Wheel: Infinite (with simulated sound)
- Design: Transparent (White/Green/Purple)
- Ball Compatibility: Standard ball
The Nape Pro SE is a special edition of the existing Nape Pro line. Nape Pro itself is using a linear trackball type of mechanism instead of a ball bearing wheel. Keychron is releasing the Nape Pro SE model in three transparent shell colors: white, green and purple. This version retains the core trackball functionality but changes the external look and internal parts.
The weight of the mouse has been increased by Keychron to 48g compared to the existing version. The replacement ball is also compatible with a standard ball for easy maintenance. Instead of having a clicky scroll wheel, this version has an infinite scroll wheel.
The scroll wheel also has a speaker inside which plays sound effects like a simulated sound every time you scroll. This gives the scrolling experience some audio feedback.
Keychron specifies two prices for the Japanese market (early-bird discount). The regular price is 12,650 JPY (about $79.95). However, the early bird pre-order price is 10,753 JPY (about $67.96).
This is a 15% discount on the early bird purchase phase. In Japan, this mouse will be available for pre-order starting October 22, 2024.
