ASUS ROG ZOOM Cat 8 LAN Cable Hits 40Gbps With 2000MHz Frequency

ASUS has just rolled out their ROG ZOOM Cat 8 10 Gigabit Gaming LAN Cable over in China. That means it's now possible to get much higher network throughputs for those of you who want to push the data to its maximum limits. For folks that want to minimize latency and maximize bandwidth for things like large file transfers or high quality streaming.

ASUS launches high-performance networking cable with 40Gbps bandwidth

The new cable has four times the bandwidth compared to a standard Cat 7 cable. This results in much higher data speeds over your local network.

Specifications

• Bandwidth: 40Gbps
• Frequency: 2000MHz
• Shielding: E/STP
• Outer Jacket Material: High-density steel braided mesh
• Core Material: 26AWG oxygen-free pure copper

The ROG ZOOM Cat 8 networking cable is a Category 8 cable that's meant to be used for high performance applications. This cable has a frequency of 2000MHz. That's way higher than the 600MHz found in the older generation cables.

The high frequency means you can transmit data at 40Gbps as found with modern 10 Gigabit network interfaces. This prevents data bottlenecks.

ASUS's ROG ZOOM Cat 8 cable has a heavy duty construction for maintaining signal integrity at length. The core of the cable is made of 26AWG oxygen-free pure copper. This is a great conductor for signals.

It has a high density steel braided mesh sheath. Inside, the cables have E/STP double shielded wiring for protection against EMI. It has gold-plated copper shells and contacts for the connectors. This prevents corrosion and ensures signal reliability.

The company says they have minimized signal crosstalk and data loss over long distances significantly. It's immediately different as ASUS says "it's one cable different, now it's different". The cable comes in two different lengths for either your desk or rack.

You've got a 1.5-meter option and a 3-meter option. Depending on your networking layout.

This week in China we now have the ASUS ROG ZOOM Cat 8 available. The 1.5-meter cable will cost you 299 CNY ($44.68). The 3-meter cable will run you 399 CNY ($59.62). ASUS has made available the ROG ZOOM Cat 8 cable in 1.5 meters and 3 meters long for consumers in China.
