CHERRY recently announced its new K37ID industrial membrane keyboard that targets applications within demanding production and logistic environments. The CHERRY K37ID is a cost-effective industrial keyboard solution for environments where conventional keyboard setups tend to fail due to dust or liquid exposure. The focus of the K37ID is functionality and durability (think IP54 rating) instead of prioritizing aesthetic elements common with consumer peripherals.
IP54-rated industrial keyboard targets warehouse environments
The K37ID is a pure industrial tool instead of a jack-of-all-trades kind of peripheral. With its compact 98/99 key setup it features a dedicated numpad to make input data tasks easier. For maximum durability in warehouse environments, the device uses industrial membrane switches that can handle a lot of abuse.
Specifications
- Form Factor: 98/99 keys
- Switch Type: Membrane
- Durability Rating: IP54
- Key Rollover: N-Key Rollover
- Keycap Material: ABS
The K37ID has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. It uses membrane switches meant for industrial applications. The keyboard has an IP54 rating which means it resists dust ingress as well as water splashes from any angle.
The keyboard features N-key rollover and anti-ghosting for accurate input during intense typing sessions. The keyboard has ABS keycaps and operates within a temperature range of 0-40 degrees Celsius.
CHERRY priced the K37ID at 34.99 EUR (translates to ~ $39.12). The keyboard is a budget-friendly option to kit-out industrial workstations. CHERRY released it in October 2023 to meet the needs within the logistics and manufacturing industry.
